According to the Pakistan Cricket Board, captain Babar Azam will not participate in the T20 series due to a fractured thumb in his right hand. Injuries plagued the Pakistani team even before the series against the strong Kiwis began.
The Pakistan cricket team will leave on Monday, December 14, where the only four-day match between Pakistan and New Zealand A will be played on December 17. The first T20 match will be played on December 18 in Auckland, the second on December 20 in Hamilton and the third on 22 December 2020 in Napier.
Pakistan will play a series of the first T20, and then ODI matches against the host Kiwis and New Zealand. Unfortunately, Babar Azam is injured and will not to play.
It should be noted that the National T20 Squad had participated in a 3-hour long training session in Queenstown. Earlier, Imam-ul-Haq was also ruled out of the only four-day match against New Zealand. The ball landed on the thumb of Imam-ul-Haq’s left hand.
